Hoogerheide delivered maybe the best racing — and the biggest emotional roller coaster — I’ve ever experienced at a cyclocross world championships.

In the elite men’s race we saw Zdenek Stybar win his third world title in the closing moments of an epic duel with defending champ Sven Nys, in the women’s race we saw American Katie Compton derailed by as asthma attack and Marianne Vos prove once again that she may just be the best bike racer in the world.
